Located in the Guangdong pro0vince on the western bank of the Pearl River Delta, Macau is a special administrative region of China. Macau was earlier part of the Portuguese administration and came under the Chinese sovereignty only in December 1999. Macau is about 55-minute ferry ride from Hong Kong. It is easy to access Macau from Hong Kong, apart from taking ferry ride one can also fly to Macau in 15 minutes by a helicopter. Though Macau is not very large in Area (24 sq kms), it has a wealth of tourist attractions. There are various tourist attractions in Macau that include churches, forts, temples, museums and gardens. Some of the main landmarks in Macau include A-Ma Temple, Monte Fort, Lou Lim Ieco Garden, Temple of Kum Iam, Taipa House Museum, Museum of Macau and the Cathedral of Sao Paulo.
